Jonnie stood waiting. She had a picture of this guy. He was new to the mutant world. Only just figured out he was different from everyone else around him. He could "ghost" through walls. Quite the talent there. Very orginial. Too many people could "ghost." Jonnie'd figured out the perfect way to eliminate them. Just perfect. Like a picture. Picture perfect. Jon had never understood that staying. Nothing in a picture was perfect. Ever. Something was always wrong.
D**n it Jon, she thought to herself. Keep your mind on the mission. If you fail now. You'll be dead next time instead of your men. Dutifully she scanned the crowds coming out of the school again. There he was, right on time. Wading through the kids, she was about the same height as most of them. It was a good thing. Gave her cover to get to him.
"Hello, Rufus," Jonnie's hand was at his elbow in a matter of seconds. She carefully guided him away from the crowd. What she needed to do was not to be witnessed. By anyone. Or those poor witnesses would bare the same fate as Rufus. Too bad about him, such potential in school. Until now. Couldn't have his "gift" falling into the wrong hands. Her small hand let go of his elbow and she left him at one end of the alleyway.
She stood at the entrance, a knife gleaming in a small amount of light. Jon examined it thoughtfully and held it out perpendicular from her body. "Rufus, I want you to ghost through this...." Such a sad, sad day. A life had ended and the new beginning in it's place was being terminated. Such a sad, sad day. For someone else. Not for Jonnie. She waited for the conceited teenage boy to believe he was going to get out of this alive. He walked foward his body slipping around her knife.
Jonnie pressed a small button. It sent an eletrical charge just large enough to jumpstart poor Rufus's heart. It brought him back into a solidable state. Her knife was in the middle of his neck. Pulling it out she watched as his blood oozed. Poor boy. His lifeless body crumpled to the ground. Wiping his mutant blood off on a handkerchief she dropped the red stainted piece of cloth next to his body. She was done with him. Back to her post. "That's for you, Jak." With that, Jonnie re-entered the stream of people outside the alley. Life went on.
